CLOVIS, CA – According to the Clovis Police Department, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Tuesday positively identified the woman who was killed three days after a traffic crash in Clovis.

Lisa Booth, 56, was reportedly struck by a van on Friday just after 6:30 a.m. near Nees and Peach Avenues. When officers and paramedics arrived on the scene, the pedestrian was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Authorities claim that neither alcohol nor drugs were considered to have been a part in the occurrence, and that the driver of a small utility van stayed at the scene and cooperated with the inquiry.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) was also contacted to assist with the inquiry. According to CRU officials, the preliminary investigation revealed that Lisa Booth was crossing Peach in the designated crosswalk on the south side of Nees Avenue as the driver was turning onto Peach from Nees in the opposite direction.

The 56-year-old woman died on Monday as a result of her injuries, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s office. Investigations into the incident are still ongoing.

Pedestrian Fatalities Attorneys in Clovis

Each year, an estimated 6,000 pedestrians lose their lives in traffic-related incidents throughout the United States. About 15% of fatal pedestrian accidents happen right here in California. Despite the fact that our lawmakers strive to protect pedestrians while sharing roads with drivers, they continue to be victimized daily.

In many instances, pedestrians are struck by vehicles operated by impaired, inattentive, and impulsive drivers. You may make every effort to be vigilant about the safety of those with whom we share the roadway, however, there is no guarantee that others are going to show you the same consideration.

Any car accident has the potential to cause catastrophic injuries for those involved. Pedestrian accidents put victims at a greater risk of suffering injuries given the fact that they are unprotected against the force of vehicles.
