WATSONVILLE, CA – A car hit a pedestrian Thursday night before crashing into an SUV, Watsonville police said. Approximately 8:30 p.m. was the time of the collision between Loma Prieta Avenue and Carey Avenue on South Green Valley Road.

The victim was a 33-year-old pregnant woman, police reported on Friday. According to police, the woman was crossing the four lanes incorrectly.

There were two people in the BMW who were taken to the hospital. The 20-year-old BMW driver was not speeding or intoxicated, investigators reported on Friday. South Green Valley Road was closed overnight as a result of the crash. Minor injuries were sustained by the driver and passenger of the Ford SUV.
