Visalia, CA – Teen in stolen truck facing serious charges after killing 14-year-old
VISALIA, CA – Visalia police say a 14-year-old Dinuba boy was killed when his truck crashed Friday morning. Around 7:40 a.m. CHP officers responded to SR-63/Dinuba Blvd. and Marlin Ave. near Ave. 320 were a head-on collision was reported. They found a Chevrolet Silverado and Chevrolet Traverse crashed into each other and then into a big rig that was parked.
According to authorities, a 15-year-old boy was driving the stolen pickup with a 14-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy as passengers. A police report states that the teen allowed his truck to drift off the road, overcorrected, and crashed into an oncoming SUV head-on. After that, both vehicles continued into the big rig parked at the side of the road. It was determined at the scene that the 14-year-old male in the back seat was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead.
Major injuries were reported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center by the 15-year-old driver and the 14-year-old girl. Kaweah Delta Medical Center treated a 27-year-old man who was injured in the SUV as well.
