Porterville, CA – Motorcyclist killed in early morning crash in Porterville, police say

PORTERVILLE, CA – Porterville police report that a man was thrown from his motorcycle during a car crash early Sunday morning. Officers were called to the area of Morton Avenue and Indiana Street just before 1:00 a.m. after a motorcycle and a car crashed. A 31-year-old man was found suffering from major injuries in the intersection when officers arrived.

According to officials, the man died from his injuries after being rushed to a local hospital. Officers say they learned the man was riding his motorcycle without a helmet when he ran a stoplight and entered the intersection.

Investigators say the motorcyclist was hit by a truck at the intersection, causing him to fall from his bike. The truck driver was not injured in the accident. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to have contributed to the crash, according to officials.
