Fresno County, CA – A motorcyclist killed in a crash near Prather has been identified
FRESNO COUNTY, CA – A motorcyclist who was killed in a car crash on Wednesday morning in Fresno County has been identified by authorities.
Two vehicles and a motorcycle were involved in a crash on Highway 168 near Little Sandy Road around 7:30 a.m., according to California Highway Patrol officers. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Richard Lewis, 43, of Auberry, had died from his injuries. A medical examiner pronounced him dead at the scene. According to police, Lewis was riding his motorcycle on the highway when he reached a curve in the road, where an SUV was waiting to make a left turn.
Lewis was ejected from his bike after crashing into the back of an SUV for an unknown reason. According to reports, Lewis was hit by a trailer pulled by a van after the crash. There is still an investigation underway into the crash, but Lewis was wearing a helmet at the time.
