Kern County, CA – One person killed in a three-vehicle collision near Grapevine
KERN COUNTY, CA – In Kern County, a fatal crash took place on Interstate 5 in the Grapevine area over the weekend. According to California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 9:45 p.m. on June 26.
The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-5 near Grapevine Road. When investigators arrived, they discovered three vehicles involved in the collision. A Toyota Tundra pickup ended up about 100 feet off an embankment.
The truck was driven by a 41-year-old man from Modesto, and two passengers were in it. A passenger in the backseat died at the scene.
Two other vehicles involved in the accident were a Peterbilt big rig driven by a 41-year-old Modesto man and an Acura driven by a 27-year-old San Jose man.
It was unclear how many people were injured in the collision. Highway Patrol investigators did not specify what caused the crash.
