Sacramento, CA – Sacramento crash hospitalizes 7, kills one
SACRAMENTO, CA (February 25, 2022) – Two vehicles were involved in a crash in Sacramento County on Tuesday afternoon, sending eight people to the hospital. Cosumnes Fire Department officials said the crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. on Twin Cities Road and Cherokee Lane in Herald. The Galt Police Department reports that six of the victims are expected to survive.
Police say that the other two victims were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the minivan, critically injuring them. A short time later, one of these victims died from his injuries at the hospital, police said.
Despite no road closures, the fire department said there is traffic congestion in the area. The California Highway Patrol and the Herald Fire Department are also on scene.
The cause of the crash is unknown, but investigators are not considering alcohol or drugs.
