Fresno, CA – Police Officer Taken To Hospital After Vehicle Collision
FRESNO, Calif (December 9, 2021) – During a power outage in downtown Fresno, a Fresno police officer was involved in a collision. Police say that around 8:04 p.m., an SUV heading in the opposite direction collided with a Fresno police unit. Due to a power outage, the traffic lights in the intersection were out during the collision.
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to have contributed to the collision, according to investigators. The officer was transported to the hospital as a precaution, but no major injuries were reported.
As crews clean up the roadway, a section between Tulare and R street is closed.
The story is still developing.
