Antioch, CA – Eqbal Khan Identified in Fatal Four-Car Wreck on Hwy 4 at Hillcrest Ave
Antioch, CA (September 18, 2021) – On Friday afternoon, September 17, officers say that 56-year-old Eqbal Khan died as a result of a four-vehicle crash that occurred on Highway 4.
The collision happened just before 1:30 p.m. on the westbound side of the highway. Officers with the Antioch Police Department, along with troopers from the California Highway Patrol, arrived at the scene near Hillcrest Avenue shortly after.
According to the CHP, Khan was driving his Chevrolet Tahoe westbound when he collided with a white Infiniti G37. As a result of the impact, Khan lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a guardrail. His Chevy was also hit by a tractor-trailer and a Toyota Corolla.
EMS attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but Khan was pronounced dead before he could be transported to a hospital. Several other victims received treatment from paramedics at the scene.
Drugs and alcohol are not considered to be factors in the accident, though the crash is still under investigation.
