Fresno Pedestrian Crashes

Approximately 900 pedestrians are killed in traffic-related incidents throughout the Golden State each year. Due to the drastic increase in the number of people we see walking, jogging, and simply getting out on foot in California, it is no surprise that the fatality rate in our state for pedestrian accidents is nearly 25% higher than the national average. Regardless of how many actions are taken to protect pedestrians traveling through our state, the number of deaths each year continues to rise.

Oftentimes, pedestrians are hit by cars operated by negligent drivers who are distracted, impaired, and reckless. Although most people try to be vigilant in order to protect themselves and others who are sharing the road, there is no guarantee that all motorists are going to take this into consideration while driving. Consequently, numerous people are fatally injured in accidents in California that could have been prevented. These accidents often have an overwhelming impact on families who are left to endure the mental, physical, and financial challenges of an unexpected loss. When victims are killed in auto accidents as a result of another person’s actions, it is crucial that their families contact a Fresno wrongful death lawyer as soon as possible. Surviving relatives may be entitled to compensation to help alleviate the costs they face moving forward after enduring an unexpected loss.
