Fresno, CA – Four-Car Crash on Ramona Ave Leaves Man Dead, Woman Injured
Fresno, CA (August 4, 2021) – A male driver on Clovis Avenue crossed the center median and caused a serious four-car collision on Wednesday, August 4, in east-central Fresno.
Officers say that the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. near Ramona Avenue, located just north of the intersection of Clovis Avenue and Shields Avenue. The name of the driver is not known, but troopers with the California Highway Patrol said it is a 53-year-old Clovis man.
Sgt. Joseph Bianchi of the CHP said the man was traveling southbound on Clovis Avenue when his Chevy Trailblazer crossed the center median and struck three parked vehicles, one of which was a Toyota Camry occupied by a 32-year-old Fresno woman. The woman was rushed to a local hospital via ambulance with major injuries, Bianchi said. The other two parked vehicles were unoccupied.
CHP is still conducting its investigation and it was not immediately known why the Trailblazer crossed over onto oncoming traffic. The man who was driving the Trailblazer was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation remains ongoing at this time, and further details have not been released.
