Bakersfield, CA – Woman Dead After Fatal Crash on Olive Drive Overpass
Bakersfield, CA (August 14, 2021) – A woman has lost her life after her involvement in an accident on the Olive Drive overpass. According to information from officials, police were patrolling Olive and Knudsen Drives when they heard a collision nearby. Officers stated that they arrived at the scene within seconds at approximately 9:22 p.m.
The wreck happened on the Olive Drive overpass over Highway 99. A head-on accident occurred between a Ford Crown Victoria and a Ford F-150 pickup. Information from reports states that the pickup truck drove over the center divider and into the opposite lane when they collided with the Crown Victoria.
Two people present in the Crown Victoria were identified as elderly females. The driver of the pickup truck was a younger female, according to various sources.
The passenger present in the Crown Victoria at the time of the crash lost her life, police said. The driver of the truck was injured along with the driver of the car. Both were transported from the scene for treatment at nearby hospitals.
