Fatal Car Accidents in California
Auto accidents throughout California claim the lives of more than 3,400 people each year. Although the majority of vehicle collisions are preventable, we continue to witness the impacts they have on families throughout our state. In fact, statistics show that more than 80% of accidents occur as a result of another driver’s reckless or negligent actions. The leading causes of crashes in our state include driving while impaired, careless driving, speeding, distracted driving, and disregarding traffic control devices. In many cases, families of those killed are left to deal with overwhelming mental and emotional consequences while trying to pick up the pieces of their lives and move forward.
As if dealing with overwhelming grief was not enough, numerous families are required to put forth tens of thousands of dollars to cover the funeral costs of their loved ones. When victims are killed in accidents resulting from the negligence of others, it is crucial that their families reach out to a wrongful death attorney in California as soon as possible. Although we understand that no amount of compensation could ever take away a family’s pain and suffering, compensation can help grieving families cover to costs of burial and funeral expenses and alleviate the impact of lost wages moving forward.
