Bakersfield, CA – Fatal Bicycle Accident at Harris Rd & Country Meadows Dr
Bakersfield, CA (August 28, 2021) – Officers with the Bakersfield Police Department are looking for a driver involved in a collision occurring early Saturday, August 28, that left a bicyclist dead.
According to Bakersfield police, officers were called to the intersection of Harris Road and Country Meadows Drive. The hit-and-run crash with the bicyclist happened just after 12:30 a.m.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man on the road with serious injuries. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver fled the scene eastbound on Harris Road, officials say. Police described the suspect vehicle as a small to mid-sized SUV, possibly red.
Authorities are continuing to investigate at this time.
