Porterville, CA – Porterville man killed after running a stop sign

PORTERVILLE, CA – According to Porterville Police Department reports, a man was killed and two other people were injured in a car accident on Wednesday morning.

An officer was called to the area of Main Street and Locust Avenue around 8:00 a.m. for a report of a crash involving a pickup truck and car. Officers discovered a man suffering from major injuries in his truck when they arrived. At the scene, officials pronounced the man dead from his injuries.

Both the 19-year-old driver and her passenger were transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries. An investigation revealed the truck driver had run a stop sign at the intersection, crashing into the car as a result.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, according to investigators.
