Visalia, CA – Motorcyclist dies after being ejected in a crash
VISALIA, CA – The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that a motorcyclist died after a vehicle collision Thursday afternoon.
The fatal accident happened on Road 24 & State Route 201 east of Kingsburg after 3:30 p.m. A 70-year-old man was driving a pickup truck southbound on Road 24, while a motorcyclist traveling westbound on State Route 201 was traveling at an unknown speed.
While the pickup truck driver stopped at Road 24 in a controlled manner, the motorcyclist did not have a stop sign on State Route 201.
The driver told CHP he checked both directions before turning left at the intersection. During the collision, the motorcyclist hit the side of the pickup truck and was thrown off his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers say he was wearing a helmet, and alcohol is not suspected.
