Vacaville, CA – Caltrans worker killed near Vacaville on I-80 has been identified
VACAVILLE, CA – According to Caltrans, 51-year-old landscape maintenance worker Quandra McGadney was struck and killed near Lagoon Valley Road in Vacaville.
The spokesperson with Caltrans in Solano County said she served California for 18 years before joining Caltrans in 2018. Kenya McGadney, 9 years old, and her two sisters, Priscilla Stevenson and Candice McGadney, survive her.
The California Highway Patrol arrested the suspect early Friday morning for the fatal hit-and-run that killed a Caltrans worker on westbound I-80 near Vacaville on Friday morning. Taje Jakkar Holliman, 31, was identified by police as the suspected driver.
Vacaville CHP officers responded to a hit-and-run crash on westbound I-80 near Lagoon Valley Road at 10:03 a.m. Friday. Prior to the arrival of CHP officers, Jakkar Holliman had fled the scene in a white Mazda 3. Fairfield Police and the California Highway Patrol located and arrested Jakkar Holliman for hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter.
A multidisciplinary team from the Golden Gate Division and CHP’s Solano Area office is investigating the crash, CHP said.
