Clovis, CA – IDENTIFIED: Older woman from Clovis who died after her car went off a cliff
CLOVIS, CA – According to the California Highway Patrol, investigators have identified the woman who died after driving over a cliff.
Officers responded to a call about a traffic collision on Auberry Road near Meadow Lane on June 15. According to authorities, the 67-year-old woman was driving north on Beal Fire Road when, for unknown reasons, she failed to make a turn and left the road.
The car fell down a steep embankment and collided with a tree, according to investigators.
Officials pronounced the woman dead at the scene. She was later identified as 67-year-old Vanessa Byer of Clovis.
Investigators do not suspect alcohol use or drug use at the moment, and no other vehicles or people were involved in the incident.
