Tulare, CA – 68-Year-Old Woman Dies in Head-On Collision on Hwy 178
TULARE, CA – The Tulare Police Department is investigating the crash that killed an 81-year-old woman Saturday.
Just after 11 a.m., officers were alerted to a crash at Turner Drive and Commercial Avenue in Tulare. An 81-year-old woman ran a stop sign at the intersection and was struck by a vehicle on Turner Drive that had the right of way.
After spinning around and hitting a third vehicle, the second vehicle hit a third vehicle. No one was injured in the other vehicles. They say the woman was pinned inside the vehicle and was unresponsive when they reached her. Despite the efforts of the emergency crews, she died at the scene.
The crash is not believed to have been caused by drugs or alcohol.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the woman killed in the crash.
