Madera County, CA – A fiery crash in Madera County leaves four dead
MADERA COUNTY, CA – Two vehicles collided in Madera County, killing four people. California Highway Patrol officials say they received a report of a crash just before midnight in Madera County on Highway 41 just north of Avenue 15. Officers arrived to find two vehicles wrecked. According to investigators, a dark-colored vehicle was traveling recklessly on Highway 41 southbound. Officers say the vehicle crossed into the northbound lanes to pass the cars in front of it, colliding with another vehicle. Both vehicles were on fire, one of them so badly that it was unrecognizable. Investigators were unable to determine the color, make, or model of the vehicle.
The crash killed four people, two in each vehicle. Their identities have not yet been released.
Despite the investigation still underway, CHP investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were to blame for the crash.
