During an attempt to pass a big rig, the driver of a northbound Ram pickup-truck pulled in front of a southbound Nissan Maxima. As a result, both vehicles collided head-on and struck the right side of the semi-truck.

Gomez, 38, died at the scene because he was not wearing a seatbelt. Meanwhile, the Ram caught fire and killed the 52-year-old female driver from Newman. Her identity has not been released yet.

Truck Accident Lawyers in Newman

Every year, nearly 3,000 people are killed or injured in tractor-trailer accidents throughout Southern California. An accident involving a commercial vehicle can cause catastrophic injuries due to its weight of 80,000 pounds. Despite the fact that most truck accidents are avoidable, they continue to have negative impacts on drivers. Commercial vehicles are much larger than other vehicles, making them more likely to cause severe injuries to those in another vehicle.

Traumatic injuries typically require hospitalization, therapy, and various types of medical treatment both immediately and in the long run.
