Madera, CA – ‘In a suspected DUI crash in Madera, a woman died and her child was seriously injured
MADERA, CA (February 06, 2022) – According to the California Highway Patrol, a woman was killed and a child was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash on Wednesday night.
The woman was driving a SUV south on Road 27 near Avenue 17 around 6:20 p.m. when a car started making a left turn in front of her. According to reports, the woman attempted to avoid the SUV but sideswiped it, was redirected, and hit an oncoming truck pulling a trailer head-on.
The woman was killed, and her daughter was seriously injured and had to be airlifted to a local hospital for treatment.
No other serious injuries were reported.
According to officials, the driver of the car is suspected of driving under the influence and is being evaluated.
