Modesto, CA (January 27, 2022) – On Friday, a retired law enforcement officer, who was suspected of driving drunk, struck a Modesto woman’s car, causing her death.
The California Highway Patrol arrested 63-year-old Theodore Young, a retired Pleasanton police sergeant, on suspicion of murder and driving under the influence on Saturday. Rebekah Gall, 27, was declared brain dead by doctors just days after she was struck head-on Jan. 18 near Chicken Ranch Road in Jamestown.
On Tuesday night, officers arrested Young on suspicion of felony DUI. He was released on bail. In an effort to protect the community, the District Attorney’s Office worked with CHP officers, who re-arrested Young. Young has faced DUI charges before. In 2017, he was convicted of one.
