Pedestrian Crashes in California
Traffic accidents in California leave thousands of people with severe injuries every year. A person’s ability to live their life how they want to can be seriously affected by an injury sustained in an accident. They may be forced into the hospital and out of work for a prolonged time period, causing them stress and anxiety when it comes to their finances. No one wants to dedicate all of their time, money, and energy to recovering from a catastrophic injury, however, unfortunate situations like this are imposed upon people every day.
Many different types of traffic accidents can happen. However, pedestrian accidents may be the most devastating. During pedestrian travel, people are totally unprotected, leaving them vulnerable in the case of an accident. They don’t have seat belts or airbags to cushion the blow if they become involved in a crash. It’s usually them against a large car or truck, which often results in serious injuries. Approximately 38% of pedestrians who get hurt in accidents will suffer an injury to their neck, head, or face. Some common examples of these types of injuries include:
- Vertebrae injuries
- Shoulder displacement
- Jaw fractures
- Neck Injuries
- Concussions
- Lacerations
- Brain bleeds/bruising
- Skull damage
Though many treatment options are available to injured victims, they often cost a fortune. Numerous people who are injured in pedestrian wrecks find themselves unable to afford the cost of treatment, which can force them to miss out on vital assistance needed to fully recover. Allowing an injury to heal on its own without the help of a doctor can mean a lifetime of pain and suffering. ]In some cases, victims can work with a pedestrian accident attorney in California in the aftermath of their accidents to make sure they are in the best position possible to recover.
If you were injured in an accident caused by the negligence of another person, seeking legal guidance from a qualified team of attorneys can help to ensure you are able to move forward and get the justice and compensation you need and deserve from those who cause you harm. Injured pedestrians may qualify for financial compensation that can cover some or all of the costs associated with their accident and resulting injuries.
