Fresno, CA – Truck Hits Fresno Bus Stops Sending One Man to the Hospital
FRESNO, Calif (December 20, 2021) – The Fresno Police Department reports a man was struck by a truck near a bus stop on Monday afternoon, causing him to be taken to the hospital.
At 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Kings Canyon and Chestnut avenues after several people called 9-1-1 to report someone had been hit by a truck. An officer found a man in his 70s bleeding profusely from his head near a bus stop when he arrived.
Police say the man is in critical but stable condition at a local hospital after he was rushed into surgery. Authorities believe the driver was making a U-turn when he lost control and hit the man and the bus stop.
After the crash, the driver stopped and cooperated with investigators. Officers say there does not appear to be a drug or alcohol factor at this time in the crash, which is still under investigation.
A taped-off area is being used to conduct the crash investigation.
The effects of car accidents can be devastating not only for the victims, but also for their families as well. It is estimated that there are over 270,000 car accidents in our state every year. No matter how much we would like to believe that everyone would be able to walk away from accidents without any problems, this does not always happen. There are more than 3,200 people who are killed in automobile accidents each year in the state of California. Many of these accidents can be attributed to human error. The majority of vehicle collisions are the result of reckless driving, negligence, speeding, driving while impaired, and other careless actions.
Losing a loved one is never an easy thing to do. It is heartbreaking when your loved one dies in an accident that could have been prevented. Thousands of dollars in expenses for medical care, property damage, funeral services, and more are also going to be incurred by families. In the event that a loved one has been killed in an accident that was caused as a result of another’s negligence, families may wish to obtain legal advice from a California wrongful death attorney.
