Bakersfield, CA – Jon Robert Turner, 46, Killed in Accident on Hwy 155 at Cypress Lane
Bakersfield, CA (December 8, 2021) – On Sunday, December 5, at approximately 8:40 p.m., a man identified as Jon Robert Turner, 46, lost his life in a fatal accident on a highway in Bakersfield. Turner was a Bakersfield resident.
The Sunday night crash happened when Turner and another driver were involved in a collision along Highway 155 near Cypress Lane in Wofford Heights. That accident resulted in no injuries, according to information from the California Highway Patrol.
After the collision, both drivers got out of their cars to discuss the crash in the eastbound lanes of the highway. While Turner and the other driver were standing in the roadway, a Mitsubishi Outlander headed east struck Turner and the vehicle nearest to him.
Turner was pronounced deceased on-site by medical professionals. The other driver was not injured, however.
The driver of the Mitsubishi remained at the scene and cooperated with officials. Police in Bakersfield continue to investigate the details of the incident.
