Pedestrian Accidents in California

While most California residents choose to drive from point A to point B, mostly everyone can be qualified as a pedestrian at some time throughout the day. People walk to the store, walk their dogs, walk across the street to their car or a friend’s house, or walk their kids to or from school. Avoiding pedestrian travel is nearly impossible on any given day. This is exactly why pedestrian safety is such a prevalent issue.

When compared to a moving vehicle, pedestrians are especially vulnerable. They are virtually unprotected against the impact of a 3,000-pound car or an even heavier truck. The injuries pedestrians sustain in traffic accidents are often severe, ranging from spinal cord injuries and bone fractures to traumatic brain injuries and sometimes even death.

Those victimized in pedestrian accidents usually suffer long-term impairments and injuries that they may have to deal with for the rest of their lives. The cost of medical care associated with these injuries is often overwhelming. Securing financial compensation from the at-fault party in a pedestrian crash is usually necessary to ensure a full recovery–both financially and physically.

Pedestrian Crash Attorneys in Bakersfield

If you or someone you love has recently been victimized in a pedestrian accident in Bakersfield, know that you are not alone. Unfortunately, pedestrian accidents in Bakersfield and throughout California take place all too frequently. However, there are actions you can take in the aftermath of your or your loved one’s crash. You have the right to fight for full and fair financial compensation for your injuries and losses, even if the driver got away.

A wrongful death lawyer in Bakersfield will be able to help you collect financial compensation that can help cover funeral costs and other expenses associated with the death of your loved one, especially in the case that they were wrongfully killed in a pedestrian crash in Bakersfield.

It is important that you do not attempt to face an insurance company on your own. Without experienced legal representation that will actively advocate for your best interests, you may be taken advantage of and, as a result, either totally miss out on compensation or collect very little–not enough to cover the costs associated with the accident. The insurance company’s job is to minimize their payouts as much as possible, which is why it is imperative that you reach out to a pedestrian accident lawyer in Bakersfield at your earliest convenience.

If you are not aware that you possess the legal right to fight for the maximum financial compensation available for your injuries, you may roll over and allow insurance companies and at-fault parties to get away with forcing you to pay for injuries you or your family member sustained due to the negligence of another person.
