Merced, CA – Couple Injured in Pedestrian Crash on Parsons Ave near E Olive Ave
Merced, CA (October 8, 2021) – A man has been arrested for two counts of attempted homicide after he struck a couple with his vehicle in Merced. The wreck was reported to police on the afternoon of Thursday, October 7.
Officers were called to the 3200 block of Parsons Avenue near East Olive Avenue for a pedestrian-involved vehicle crash at around 12:30 p.m. Thursday. Investigators utilized footage from a nearby surveillance camera to determine the details of the wreck.
After viewing footage of the collision, they found that the collision was intentional and were able to locate the suspect and detain him. He was identified as Julian Vitoria, 24, who purposefully struck a couple walking along Parsons Avenue.
The victims were treated for moderate injuries at an area hospital after the wreck took place. Their identities have not been released at this time.
