California Pedestrian Accidents
Over 900 people lose their lives every single year due to pedestrian accidents in California. The number of fatal pedestrian accidents in the Golden State has drastically increased over the past decade. This is probably because more people are deciding to travel on foot rather than in a vehicle. Although there are numerous safety measures in place to protect pedestrians, people continue to sustain injuries and lose their lives due to these accidents. In fact, the pedestrian fatality rate in California is currently 25% higher than the national average.
Oftentimes, pedestrians are hit by vehicles that are being operated by impaired, distracted, and reckless drivers. No matter how vigilant we are and trying to protect others who are sharing the road with us, unfortunately, there’s no guarantee that other drivers are going to present us with the same courtesy. Consequently, numerous people become fatally injured in pedestrian accidents in California. Many of these collisions could’ve been prevented.
