Fresno, CA – Fatal Hit & Run Crash near Olive Ave & Fresno St
Fresno, CA (July 30, 2021) – A woman lost her life after being involved in a fatal hit and run crash on Thursday evening, July 29 in Fresno. At approximately 9:00 p.m., police and paramedics were dispatched to the scene in order to help those involved.
The wreck occurred near Olive Avenue and Fresno Street for reasons still under local law enforcement investigation at this time. The older female victim was walking with her walker on Olive Avenue when a westbound vehicle struck her.
The woman, who remains unidentified, was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where she later lost her life. Authorities are currently investigating whether the woman was attempting to cross the street at the time of the wreck.
Police were able to obtain surveillance video of the vehicle that fled the scene, but are not currently able to release it. Authorities in Fresno continue to investigate.
The area in which the collision occurred was blocked to regular traffic while crews were at the scene. Local drivers were forced to find different travel routes for the time being.
