Fresno, CA – Fatal Hit & Run Takes Life of 10-Year-Old Boy at Friant & Fort Washington Rds
Fresno, CA (June 18, 2021) – Authorities in Fresno are currently investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that took the life of a 10-year-old boy in northeast Fresno. The wreck was reported just after 11:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 17.
The incident was stated to have occurred at Friant and Fort Washington Roads just after 11:30 p.m. According to information provided by investigators, a large family, of at least five, was crossing Friant Road to get to a store.
As the family was crossing the road, a four-door, black sedan struck a 10-year-old boy. The family was in the crosswalk at the time.
CPR was performed on the child at the crash scene by first responders. He was revived and transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he later passed away.
Police continue to investigate the details of the crash. The driver involved fled the scene without stopping to render aid or wait for the police. Investigators believe that the vehicle that struck the child was a 2011-2014 black four-door Chrysler 300 with front-end, right-sided damage.
