FRESNO, CA – The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman who was struck by an automobile on Saturday.
Around 9:45 p.m., Fresno police officers were dispatched to the intersection of First Street and Gettysburg Avenue due to a pedestrian accident. According to investigators, Yohanna Gomez, 34, was struck by a car that was heading west on Gettysburg as she attempted to cross the street.
Gomez was conscious and breathing but had substantial head trauma and was unconscious. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she eventually died.
According to the police, several witnesses, including the driver, failed to notice Gomez crossing the street. According to reports, the driver was cooperative and not under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
