Bakersfield, CA – North Chester Avenue motorcycle crash kills two
BAKERSFIELD, CA – Tuesday night near Oildale, a motorbike collision with a car resulted in the deaths of a man and a woman, according to California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported at Bancroft Drive and North Chester Avenue at about 11:07 p.m., according to the agency. Officers from the CHP and emergency services arrived on the site.
The CHP discovered that a 50-year-old man was driving a 2005 Suzuki northbound in the No. 1 lane of North Chester Avenue at a fast speed with a 55-year-old female passenger. Near the same time, a 2021 Subaru’s driver, later identified as Gannon Stane, was halted at the junction of Bancroft Drive and N. Chester Avenue.
Stane entered the No. 2 lane as the motorcycle turned right onto N. Chester Avenue, forcing the motorcycle to deviate right into the second lane where it collided with the front left door of the Subaru, according to CHP.
The guy and woman died at the spot after being flung from the motorcycle and falling to the ground.
Investigations into the crash are still ongoing. The Kern County Sheriff’s Office will identify the guy and woman at a later time.
Bakersfield Motorcycle Accident Lawyers
Motorcycle accidents cut short the lives of over 500 people every year. An additional 14,000 riders are left to deal with overwhelming pain and suffering from crash-related injuries. In a collision, motorcycle riders are fully exposed, which greatly increases their odds of sustaining broken bones, traumatic brain injuries, and crippling spinal cord injuries that will require lengthy and expensive medical treatments. To make things worse, injured riders are often physically unable to work for months or even years as they recover.
If you are injured in a motorcycle accident, you will inevitably be approached by insurance adjusters who seem to be on your side but are trying to get you to agree to a lowball settlement. Accepting a settlement from an insurance carrier is most likely not in your best interest. Typically, insurance companies offer the minimum amount of financial compensation to collision victims as a way to get them to sign over their legal rights to pursue additional damages.
Once they sign, the victim is prevented from continuing to seek the monetary compensation they need for medical care, lost income, and the many other costs they will eventually face arising from their accidents. Instead, it is crucial to reach out to a motorcycle accident attorney in Bakersfield as soon as possible. You may have options available to help you move forward after being harmed in an accident.
