Merced, CA – Man hit by vehicle while using crosswalk
MERCED, CA – The Merced Police Department reports that a man was struck by a vehicle while he was using a crosswalk on Tuesday.
At approximately 8:45 p.m., a man believed to be in his 70s was crossing M Street at Olive Avenue. He was hit by a vehicle heading east on Olive Avenue that made a right turn.
Police said the man was injured in the incident and taken to a hospital.
The vehicle involved stayed on the scene, according to police. Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
