Beaumont, CA – Jaquan Carter dies in an accident on Interstate 10 following a rear-end semi-truck crash
BEAUMONT, CA – Jaquane Carter, 31, was killed in a fatal semi-truck crash on Interstate 10 on Friday afternoon.
About 12:40 p.m., the accident occurred along the westbound lanes of the freeway near Beaumont Avenue. A driver of a 2015 Kia failed to brake in time for stopped traffic ahead, according to California Highway Patrol. Consequently, Carter rear-ended a 2019 Freightliner towing a 53-foot semi-trailer on the No. 4 lane. The Kia driver was found with blunt force head trauma. Due to his severe injuries, he passed away at the scene. The deceased man was identified as Carter from Burgaw, North Carolina.
Carter was also stationed at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California, according to California Highway Patrol officers.
