SACRAMENTO, Calif (December 28, 2021) – Mark Willis and Mark Allen of ABC10 saw a solo vehicle hydroplaning on the highway and pulled to the side of the road to provide assistance.
In a segment on ABC10’s Live Drive, just after 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, Mark S. Allen and photojournalist Mark Willis reported on road conditions on Southbound I-5 near Sutterville where a car in the far right lane hit a puddle and spun out into a ditch.
While reporting on the traffic conditions, our crew pulled over to the side of the road and called 911 after witnessing the accident.
Daisy, the driver, did not suffer any serious injuries.
ABC10’s news van was hit shortly after pulling over by another vehicle.
Both accidents did not result in major injuries.
Traffic Safety officials recommend going 10 mph under the posted speed limit.
