Bakersfield, CA – Fatal Hit & Run Crash Takes 1 Life on SR 223 near SR 184
Bakersfield, CA (August 22, 2021) – A man has lost his life after he was involved in a hit-and-run collision on Thursday, August 19. The crash was reported at around 8:45 p.m. on State Route 223 near State Route 184.
Information from preliminary reports shows that a motorcyclist was traveling south on SR-184 on a 2020 Suzuki motorcycle approaching SR-223. They were located in the number one lane going about 75 miles per hour. A dark-colored SUV was headed north on SR-184 approaching SR-223 at around 25 miles per hour.
The two vehicles collided for reasons still being investigated by authorities. Information from officials states that the left side of the SUV and the left handlebars of the Suzuki collided.
The rider was ejected from the motorcycle as it overturned due to the crash. The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased on-site. The driver of the SUV left the scene without stopping to call for help or render aid. The motorcyclist has not been identified at this time.
