Fresno, CA – Two Killed in Head-on Crash on Hwy 180 near James Rd
Fresno, CA (August 17, 2021) – Two people have lost their lives after their involvement in a head-on accident in Fresno County. Information from officials states that the wreck occurred around 6:30 a.m., on the evening of Monday, August 16.
Sources indicate that the crash took place on Highway 180 near James Road when a 21-year-old man driving a Honda Odyssey headed east on the highway was approaching a Ford headed west. Police stated that the Ford’s driver swerved off of the roadway and overcorrected, colliding head-on with the Odyssey.
Both vehicles were forced off of the road due to the impact. A Dodge pickup truck behind the Odyssey swerved in order to avoid the crash. The maneuver caused his vehicle to overturn.
Police stated that the drivers of the Ford and Honda were pronounced deceased at the scene. Three people present inside the Honda at the time, including a 16-year-old and a baby, were transported to Community Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The Dodge’s driver was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries as well. Police continue to investigate the details of the crash.
