Antioch, CA – Five Children Injured in Accident on Hwy 4 near Hillcrest Ave
Antioch, CA (July 31, 2021) – A serious car accident took place on a roadway in Antioch on the morning of Thursday, July 29. The wreck was reported to authorities shortly after 7:00 a.m., according to information from officials.
The Thursday morning collision occurred on Highway 4 near Hillcrest Avenue between a Toyota Camry and a van. The driver of the Camry, a female, was trapped inside her vehicle and required extrication by fire crews. She was then transported to a local medical center for treatment.
Five children, ages 2 to 11, suffered injuries in the wreck. The 2-year-old was airlifted to an area hospital while the others were transported by ambulances. The reason the crash took place remains unknown at this time.
All eastbound lanes of the highway were closed while crews worked at the scene. A SigAlert was in effect from 7:39 a.m. until 7:57 a.m.
