Pedestrian Collisions in California
Over 150,000 people are injured in automobile accidents throughout the state of California each and every year. A large percentage of these injured victims are pedestrians, according to statistics. A large number of pedestrians are traveling on roads and sidewalks throughout the state of California at any given time. Pedestrian-involved traffic collisions send tens of thousands of people to local medical centers where they are treated for their injuries. Chances of serious and life-threatening injuries can be higher depending on the circumstances of the accident.
Pedestrian wrecks in the Golden State are often more likely to result in serious or life-threatening injuries for victims. These accidents often leave victims with brain injuries, broken bones, and spinal cord injuries, all of which require extensive medical treatment that can also be very costly. In many instances, car accidents are caused by the actions of other motorists. These actions, usually negligent in nature, can include people using cellphones while driving, texting, driving while intoxicated, speeding, ignoring traffic lights and signs, and engaging in generally unsafe driving behaviors. When victims are injured in accidents as a result of negligent drivers, they should consult with a personal injury accident attorney in California as soon as possible.
