Stanislaus, CA – One Killed After Being Ejected from Car on Stuhr Rd near Jorgensen Rd
Stanislaus, CA (March 13, 2021) – A 20-year-old Stockton resident lost his life late on Sunday, March 7 when he was ejected from his car amidst a rollover accident. The man landed in the roadway where he was then struck by another vehicle. Reports from officials state that the fatal crash happened just after 11:30 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol along with a Patterson Ambulance responded to the report concerning the collision. The report indicated that the wreck took place on Stuhr Road west of Jorgensen Road, northwest of Newman.
Preliminary investigations found that the Stockton man was headed west on Stuhr in his 2011 Ford Fusion when his vehicle left the north side of the roadway and struck a dirt embankment on the shoulder.
Striking the embankment led to the Fusion overturning. It then came to rest in the westbound lane. During the rollover, the man was thrown from the vehicle into the eastbound lane of traffic. He was then struck by a 2015 Hyundai Elantra that immediately stopped to render aid.
The man was pronounced deceased at the crash scene by responding medical professionals. The Elantra’s driver, identified as a 50-year-old resident of Newman, sustained no injuries in the accident.
Intoxication does not appear to be a factor in the crash. Police continue to investigate.
